The Contemporary Art Society exists to develop public collections of contemporary art in the UK.

Our work to develop public collections of contemporary art is central to our mission.
We work to aquire new works of contemporary art for our Member Museums and Galleries across the UK and our National Programmes extend through a comprehensive National Network to build capacity and knowledge within and about these collections.
We offer various membership and patronage schemes for those who wish to learn more about contemporary art and collecting, and to support our work to develop public collections.

All proceeds from our Consultancy work are invested in our charitable mission to build inspirational collections of contemporary art for audiences across the UK.

National Network Travel Bursary Scheme
2010 is our centenary year. During the past 100 years we have donated more than 8,000 works to public collections in the UK where they are enjoyed by audiences everywhere.
During 2010, we are marking our centenary through a programme of events, talks, displays and projects developed in close partnership with our sixty-four Member Museums and Galleries.
We organise a major fundraising event each March, which raises vital funds to purchase new works of contemporary art for public collections in the UK.
