Members combined a visit to the recently opened Rivington Place with an opportunity to hear Contemporary Art Society Chairman, Alison Myners, and Director, Paul Hobson, review the past year and speak about the Contemporary Art Society's plans
for the future.
Rivington Place, home to Iniva and Autograph ABP, is a new visual arts space dedicated to work by artists from different cultural backgrounds. The building houses exhibition and installation spaces, a seminar and screening space, research library, multimedia facility, photography archive, learning space, meeting room, workspaces and a café/bar. David Adjaye, architect of Rivington Place will be present to talk about the building.
Members also had the opportunity to see the exhibition London is the Place for Me organised by Iniva and Autograph ABP to mark the launch of Rivington Place. Looking at migration through photography and moving image, the exhibition explored the presence of many different diasporic communities living in Britain today.
