Travel: International trip to Delhi and Mumbai: 27 November - 6 December 2009

Delhi and Mumbai are two cities that have been the
base for the contemporary art scene in India for the past decade.

On our visit to gallery spaces, studios, project spaces, archives and public and private collections we will explore what characterises the different ecologies of these two cities.  We will interrogate the two central influences on practice in Delhi and Mumbai: the art school and the art market. How has practise evolved through modernism, and how the art market boom of recent years affected the emerging generation of artists?
